The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned its construction as a mausoleum for his favorite wife, Arjumand Bano Begum, who is better known as Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj (as it is often called) is generally considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements of Indian and Persian architectures. The Taj has achieved special note because of the romance of its inspiration. While the white domed marble mausoleum is the most familiar part of the monument, the Taj is actually a complex of elements. Afternoon drive to Delhi to catch the international flight.

Please note: The National Parks featured on this itinerary are usually open between 1st Oct and 30th June each year. Game drives in Ranthambore National Park are offered by jeep (up to four clients) or cantor (a larger truck style vehicle taking between 12 and 20 clients). Whilst we make every effort to confirm game drives by jeep, the numbers are limited and strictly controlled by the Rajasthan Tourism Department and we are therefore unfortunately unable to guarantee this. It is only possible to book game drives 60 days prior to departure and passport details are required at the time of booking.
