in 1567 by Maharana Udai Singh and is still very much a traditional Rajput
town. Blessed with picturesque lakes and surrounded by the grandeur of Rajput
architecture and culture, Udaipur is one of the most unique destinations in
North India. End the day with a candlelit dinner overlooking Lake Pichola

water around you. Dinner will be served at Udaimahal restaurant. Overnight
at the resort.
DAY 5 UDAIPUR [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]
After breakfast, drive approximately two hours to
Kumbalgarh Fort. Built by Rana Kumbha in the fifteenth century, this fort
is one of the best examples of defensive architecture in Rajasthan. A number
of palaces, temples and monuments were added within the fort walls over the
next few centuries. This was one of the most important fortresses of the Maharanas
of Mewar. Enjoy a gourmet lunch at Aodhi, a secluded hunting lodge near the
fort; then drive through the forests onward to the astounding Jain temple
complex of Ranakpur. This extremely beautiful temple complex lies in the peaceful
valley of the Aravalli hills. Built in the 15th century, the temples in this
complex are beautifully crafted and well preserved. Return to The Oberoi Udaivilas
in the evening. After a spectacular day exploring ancient Mewar, allow a special
stress relieving massage at the Oberoi Spa to rejuvenate your mind and body.
Dinner will be served at Udaimahal restaurant. Overnight at the resort.
DAY 6 UDAIPUR [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]

lakes, palaces and surrounding country side. Enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner
in the privacy of your room terrace with champagne. Overnight at the resort.
DAY 7 UDAIPUR & JAIPUR (By Flight) [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]
Transfer to Udaipur airport and board your flight
to Jaipur, departing Udaipur at 0740 hours. Arrive in Jaipur at 0825 hours,
and check into The Oberoi Rajvilas. Known as the Pink City of India, Jaipur
is the state capital and largest city of Rajasthan. Most of the structures
in the old walled city are built with pink lime plaster, giving the city its
name. After lunch, visit the famous City Palace in the heart of the old city
and the Hawa Mahal, also known as the ‘Palace of Winds’. Hawa Mahal, built
in a unique design, is the landmark of Jaipur and was used by the ladies of
the court to watch the daily goings-on in the street below. Return to the
regal splendor of The Oberoi Rajvilas, and pamper yourself with a special
massage at the Oberoi Spa. Dinner is at Rajmahal, the new Indian specialty
restaurant. Overnight at the resort.
Day
8 JAIPUR [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner] Morning
excursion after breakfast to Amber Fort. 12 kilometres from Jaipur is the
deserted city of Amber. It was once the ancient capital of the Rajput Empire.
From the road you can climb up to the Fort in approximately 10 minutes, or
take an elephant ride. After enjoying the stunning view of the Mansagar Lake
from atop the fort, head back to the town. Enroute, stop at a boutique to
get a flavor of the local arts and crafts of Rajasthan. Lunch is at The Trident,
Jaipur. Return to The Oberoi Rajvilas for a ‘Shirodhara Ayurvedic treatment’
at the Oberoi Spa. In the evening, watch the traditional ‘Aarti’ (prayer)
at the ancient Shiva Temple within the hotel premises. Dinner is at Surya
Mahal restaurant. Overnight at the resort.
DAY 9 JAIPUR [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]

on an elephant ride. The ride concludes with a picnic in the scenic countryside
surrounding Naila Fort. Dinner will be served in the restaurant surrounded
by beautiful gardens. Overnight at the resort.
DAY 10 JAIPUR > AGRA (By Flight) [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]
After an early lunch transfer to Jaipur airport to
board your flight to Agra, departing at 1400 hours. Arrive at Agra airport
at 1600 hours and check into The Oberoi Amarvilas. In the evening enjoy a
2 hour ‘Touch of Serenity’ spa program. Dinner is at Esphahan, the Indian
specialty restaurant featuring a display kitchen and live classical music.
Overnight at the resort.
DAY
11 AGRA [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner] Early
morning visit to the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal, built in white marble by Emperor
Shahjahan as a mausoleum for his queen Mumtaz Mahal, is a universal symbol
of love. This magnificent monument is best enjoyed in the early morning hours.
Return to the hotel for breakfast at Bellevue, the multi-cuisine restaurant.
Later visit the Agra Fort. In the 16th and 17th centuries, at the time of
the Mughals, Agra was the capital of India. Construction of Agra Fort was
originally started by Emperor Akbar in 1565, but his son, Jahangir, and grandson,
ShahJahan, later made additions. It houses the Dewan-e-Khas and Dewan-e-Aam
(Halls of Private and Public Audience) and its walls are a silent witness
to the rise and fall of the Imperial Mughal Empire. The palaces and courtyards
within the fort feature a variety of ingenious Islamic inspired devices (some
decorative, some more practical) within the fabric of the buildings. Return
to The Oberoi Amarvilas for lunch. In the evening visit the Taj Mahal to see
the monument changing colours at sunset. Enjoy a private romantic dinner with
wine served in the privacy of your room balcony overlooking the Taj. Overnight
at the resort.
DAY 12 AGRA > DELHI
(By Flight) [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner] After breakfast, drive for one hour
to Fatehpur Sikri, a world heritage site and the ancient Mughal capital of
India. Completed in 1571 by the Mughal Emperor Akbar, who was known to be
a very tolerant ruler, the buildings at Fatehpur Sikri blend both Islamic
and Hindu elements in their architectural style. Experts argue that Fatehpur
Sikri is the greatest accomplishment of Mughal architecture, surpassed only
in reputation but not in its beauty by the Taj Mahal. The cultural politics
of the site remain to be written; perhaps the mammoth chess board, where human
figures were used as chess pieces and moved at the emperor’s will, provides
a clue. Enjoy a picnic lunch on your way back to The Oberoi Amarvilas. In
the afternoon transfer to Agra airport to board your flight for Delhi departing
at 1750 hours. Arrive at Delhi airport at 1850 hours. Meet and greet at the
airport and check into The Oberoi, New Delhi. Dinner at Threesixty. Overnight
at the hotel.
DAY 13 DELHI [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]
Breakfast is followed by a day excursion to the old
city of Delhi to discover the hustle and bustle that keeps the city alive.
Explore the Old Fort or Purana Qila, pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj
Ghat, see the imposing Red Fort, visit the Jama Masjid and stroll through
the bustling old bazaar of Chandni Chowk. Return to the hotel for lunch. In
the evening relax with a special scrub and massage at the Oberoi spa. Dinner
is at Traventino, the Italian specialty restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 14 DELHI [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]
In the morning visit the lively market of Dilli Haat
for some last minute shopping. Lunch is at The Oberoi, New Delhi. In the evening
give your trip the perfect finishing touch with a full body massage at the
Oberoi Spa. Indulge in a farewell traditional Indian dinner at Threesixty
while you relive the magical moments of your “India in Luxury” holiday with
Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. Late night transfer to the Indira Gandhi International
Airport for your flight back.
